There's armrest-clutching brilliance in the way this sweatily tense low-budget British horror lays out a family Christmas from hell, and then cranks it up into something truly gruesome. Go to Full Review

This British sci-fi thriller is like the violent offspring of "Black Mirror." Go to Full Review

An important subject doesn't necessarily make for a thrilling satire/social critique and Kevorkian and Williams simply aren't outlandish enough to land their half-baked ideas about television's dominating influence. Go to Full Review

A typical modern family gathers for Christmas, full of nostalgia and bickering. They wake on Christmas morning to find they are unable to leave. At last: a great Christmas horror film from the UK. Go to Full Review

Charles P Aug 15 Fantastically weird sci-fi with a dose of holiday ambience and familial infighting - doesn't rewrite the book on 'takeover horror' but does utilize some cool blendings of ideas and motifs. See more Claudio C Jul 4 Await Further Instructions (2018) Good Movie with a Tense Story, but Awful Conclusion (11,803 –03 Jul 2025 – by Claudio Carvalho) In England, Nick (Sam Gittins) and his Indian girlfriend Annji (Neerja Naik) travel in the Christmas eve to the house of his dysfunctional family. They are welcomed by his mother Beth (Abigail Cruttenden) but have a cold reception from his estranged father Tony (Grant Masters) and Grandad (David Bradley), who are also xenophobic. When Nick’s stupid pregnant sister Kate (Holly Weston) and husband Scott (Kris Saddler) arrive, Annji is badly treated and humiliated, and the couple decides to return home. However, Nick proposes they travel early the next morning before the family wakes up. When they are ready to leave the house, they discover that they are enclosed by a strange net of metal cables. Further, the television is giving successive instructions to the family. What is happening with the family? “Await Further Instructions” (2018) is a great movie with a tense story, but awful conclusion. The story has four obnoxious characters: Grandpa, Tony, Scott and Kate are unpleasant and offensive characters, and it is impossible for the viewer to feel empathy for any of them. The discussions and arguments among them are also very tense and unpleasant. The story gives the sensation that it would be criticism to people that watch and believe television. But the senseless ending destroys what could have been a good movie. My vote is five. The characters are written so paper-thin they don't deserve to be called stereotypes or caricatures. The acting is uniformly bad. The plot is so stupid. The effects are awful. Save your time. Watch anything...*ANYTHING* else. See more Faz S 08/19/2024 1 1/2 hours that I will never get back…….should have stuck with my original plan of ironing my shirts or watching paint dry! See more Music Videos I 12/28/2023 Without question one of the worst films I've ever seen. Whoever wrote the script for this must have had a lobotomy. The characters are so generic it's farcical. How do films like this ever get made? Who looked at this trash and thought "yeah sounds like a hit to me"? Everyone associated with this film should be embarrassed, because that's what everything about this film is…. An embarrassment. See more Squire S 12/09/2023 Almost unbelievably prophetic film predicting the thing that arrived on earth in 2020 and showing the psychological and spiritual forces at work. Part incredibly accurate predictions of what was to come in terms of lockdown and if not forced, at least coerced vaccinations and unquestioned obedience to the perceived authority of the media and part allegory showing the relentless psychic attack that we came under in the period 2020 to the present. Obviously an uncomfortable truth hard for many to swallow is contained in this amazing film. See more Read all reviews
