A raw, intimate portrait of identity and displacement, with Mario Casas delivering his most vulnerable and nuanced performance yet. 'Muy lejos' plays like a slow-burn match, igniting with quiet emotional power. Go to Full Review

In this uncertain journey, Oms achieves an austere yet lucid debut film, where privacy and context converse without fanfare, and where the acting—led by Casas—becomes the true narrative axis. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Christian M @chriss17eu Feb 25 I walk into 'Away' with no expectations—and it delivers exactly that. Its slow pace borders on indifference; within twenty minutes, I’m checking the time. The cold 2008–2009 Netherlands is atmospheric and almost tactile, but the story never makes that beauty resonate. Mario Casas shows technical restraint, yet his performance lacks risk or emotional impact. The film gestures toward themes of immigration and social coldness, hovering between observation and commentary without committing to either. Relationships feel underdeveloped, potential sparks never ignite, and even the hinted queerness adds no real depth. Visually clean but predictable, wrapped in endless blue tones, it simmers without intensity. In the end, it’s competent yet soulless—more portrait than pulse. See more Read all reviews
