Through my Methodist faith lens, seeing Yohualli channel his tragedy into protecting his people reminds me that true justice means shielding the vulnerable. Plum’s score also brilliantly weaves Elfman’s ‘89 theme into traditional Aztec instrumentation to anchor the dark atmosphere. The Cuts: The middle really dragged for me; setting up all the historical villain variants stalls the momentum. Keeping it spoiler-free, translating the complex history of Spanish colonialism into a standard superhero slugfest leaves the stakes feeling one-dimensional and half-baked. Holy crap, this revisionist history propaganda film is utter s**t. Anyone who likes this, does like the character of Batman at all. All you like is political messaging. "Oh if we make Batman with the Natives, then ALL America will see we should give our land back to the natives." Those same natives who killed for that land previously and conquered and wiped out previous generations and civilizations before them who did the same thing, so on and so forth.
