Lisa G This is an absolutely beautiful documentary. Filmed like a feature narrative, the camera follows a Nepalese family traveling by foot from the remote Himalayas to the big city to sell herbs and goods to live off for most of the year. The film captures a way of life and a world Westerners rarely see - one that is about to be forever changed by the construction of a major highway cutting through the mountain landscape. Because the filmmakers are so unobtrusive, we are allowed to experience the setting fully without interviews or narration telling us what to think, giving us space to reflect on the profound effect industry and "progress" will have on this isolated community. Gorgeous cinematography. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
