Audience Member This is the best live Zappa I've ever seen, as he's peaking as a sexy alien here, his guitar solos are mind blowing, and it also includes incredible claymation art by Bruce Bickford. "Baby Snakes" the title track, has interesting lyrics: "They live by a ho-ho-hole (tiny hole) That is usually empty (usually empty, tiny too) They live by a code (dit dit dit dit) That is usually SMPTE Which stands for Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers..." The Zappa geeks online (thanks geeks) think this is not so much about the clitoris as it is about Zappa's love of Time Code Synchronization thanks to the SMPTE reference. You can go Zappa song by Zappa song and play this game with yourself; is this about the angry inch or Time Code Synchronization? And then you can also ask, "Did he just sing something pretty homophobic?" and Yup, he did. But, this is Zappa, and it's all going up your poop chute! So, don't fool yourself girl by ripping the old time code sync apart... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member A total must for any Zappa fan. Even if you aren't a big fan of Frank Zappa (although I can't understand why anyone wouldn't like FZ) it is still worth watching to see Zappa working with his band and others. The only thing which might put people off is the length of this movie, it is over 3 hours long! Zappa is a hero of mine so I might be slightly bias towards loving this movie. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Probably too long for non-Zappa-freaks, and the sequences of Mr Bickford's claymation will weird-out many people, but the concert footage is fantastic. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Ok. this is for Zappa Fans only but it is a great documentary if you want to get into zppas mind on how he plays with his band and then there is the concert. Songs are mainly from the Sheik Yerbouti album with a few classics from way back when. But come on, it's Zappa live. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Zappa's zany feature film that is part-rock doc, part-stoner humor, part-rock concert. But, it's past his prime creativity of the Mothers of Invention as the film would've been better and funnier if it was a non-stop concert film. But, with all of the random stuff in the first two hours, I often forget that this is meant to be bizarre and not annoying. Well, the last 45 minutes of the film is a good concert. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member If you like Zappa and his music, you'll love this overlong documentary. If not. . .
