Audience Member Indiana Jones meets Jurassic Park if the dinosaurs looked totally fake. It was enjoyable when I was a child at least. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/09/23 Full Review Steve D Too cheap and childish to please anyone. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Jurassic Park it's not but you might at least appreciate it if you grew up with it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie makes me very nostalgic, so my rating may reflect that. However, it is a fun 80's action-adventure flick. The special effects are dated, but I still give the film-makers kudos for not using the standard clay-mation that was common for dinosaur films of the time. The film also has a rousing score from the late, great Jerry Goldsmith. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review kevin c Sean Young and William Katt play a paleontologist and her husband on an expedition to Africa where they make a startling discovery of a family of brontosaurus and try to protect them from the African military and some American scientists out to capture them. Aside from the not so great dinosaur effects, this is a pretty good movie. Doesn't hurt that Sean Young is in it. I could watch her in anything. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review adam b I can only assume the director was making a family film and one of the producers were like "needs more tits and bloodshed". Also, of all the dinosaurs that were able to survive mass extinction and stay hidden for million years, it HAD to be the Brontosaurus. Makes complete sense. Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Baby turns out to be a real no-brainer. The movie even blows the one moment you'd assume couldn't fail -- the first sighting of a brontosaurus. Instead of a moment of quiet awe, the movie gives us the gee-whiz approach of a Godzilla remake. Rated: 1/4 Jun 20, 2018 Full Review Paul Attanasio Washington Post Most of the budget of "Baby" seems to have gone into the creatures, who nevertheless don't look much better than Gumby. Jan 3, 2018 Full Review Sheila Benson Los Angeles Times Baby's faintly reptilian eyes are dead. And with them dies a lot of our belief. Rated: 2/5 Mar 26, 2013 Full Review John Brosnan Starburst There's a limit to what can be achieved with the Rambaldi/Raponi approach to special effects, and I'm afraid Baby exposes those limits all too plainly. Jul 22, 2022 Full Review Mattie Lucas From the Front Row There may be some nostalgic charm to its Land of the Lost-esque tale of exotic adventure, but those that didn't grow up with it may find that nostalgia isn't enough to make this lost legend worth uncovering. Rated: 2/4 Jun 3, 2019 Full Review TV Guide Though not as wonderful as it might have been, this film is a must for Disney fans. Typical of the studio's films, it tugs at your heart while making you laugh. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 26, 2013 Full Review Read all reviews
