kyle c As with most of the Babylon 5 movies, this one was pretty pointless. I think it was supposed to be a set-up for another spin-off, but that didn't take off so this just feels out of place. We only get to see one character that we know and even his presence feels forced. On top of that, the writing was weak and the "clever" solution at the end seems unrealistically simple given the advanced technology in this universe. The new enemy that gets introduced also feels forced, like they're just arbitrarily worse than the previous enemies because they have to be to make the stakes high. Also, the weird virtual-reality kung-fu weapons system was incredibly awkward and must be wildly inefficient to operate. I guess it's worth watching if you really want the full canon of the Babylon 5 universe, but honestly it doesn't add anything interesting. Having G'Kar play a role in the story helped immensely. I'm not sure if this was a pilot for a spin-off series, but based on this initial outing, I'd have watched it. Likeable characters, fair CGI, and the introduction of a new race of villains made this an enjoyable watch. Neat characters and good acting. The late Andreas Katsulas reprises his roll as G'Kar.
