Chris Salce Film Threat If you are looking for a film to just kind of get away from the real world, I think this would be a good one to turn to. Rated: 6/10 Jun 24, 2021 Full Review Kat Hughes THN A well made film that seems unclear of the direction it wants to go in, not pushing far enough into either comedy or horror, leaving the viewer confused about its intentions. Timothy E This was a good movie. I hope they please make a part 2. Jake Gyllenhaal is a very good actor. Love all his movies Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/24 Full Review Lori D This is a kind of fun little flick that basically echoes movies including Violent Night, You're Next, and even The Babysitter. The lead actress makes the film - her action star abilities are completely believable. It won't change your life, but this would be a fun addition to an Xmas action movie list. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/27/23 Full Review bryan b Your standard doomsday cult breaks into a house to unlock a door to hell by sacrificing the family inside but the most insignificant person manages to home alone them feel good romp. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I really liked this movie. Funny, scary, and creative. Definitely not a movie for the little kids, but teens and older are ok. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member What a dumb ass movie! Who drops a bat to fight a guy with a knife with your bare hands. So the babysitter is trying to untie the family held hostage, but instead of just cutting them loose, she stops to have a conversation with them. Whoever made this movie should rethink their career choice. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Babysitter Must Die (Rental) is a low budget horror movie about a babysitter defending her ward from a trio of cultist. She has merit badges from years of camp and as she uses the them, they flash briefly on the screen (that was a nice touch and ideally should have been used more). The acting by the two primary actresses are both fairly good given the material they have to work with, and they should get more work. Unfortunately, the screenplay is lackluster and many of the technical aspects are below par even for the budget. In particular, the lighting is haphazard, making the film look washed out and randomly lit (it would be a good film to show students a clip of to show them what to avoid). The runtime is extremely short 85 minutes but sadly there is only about 60 minutes of material in the film. It fails as horror film having no real scares, and never delivers the laughs despite the cast trying very hard. 1 ½ stars out of 5. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
