The drug ecstasy is flowing into Miami, and the police want it stopped. Police Detective Marcus Burnett and his partner, Mike Lowrey, are just the men to do it. They track the drugs to a Cuban smuggler, Johnny Tapia, who is also involved in a bloody war with Russian and Haitian mobsters. If that isn't bad enough, there's tension between the two cops because Lowrey is romantically involved with Burnett's sister, Syd.

With a bigger budget, (Michael) Bay goes all out in the action sequences. His camerawork may have been more frenetic compared to his 1995 debut but he still directs them with enough propulsive energy to keep you engaged.

Awesome buddy cop action movie. Classic Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. Great mix of action, drama and comedy. Just as good, if not better than the original. Highly recommended. Update: defintely better than the first. Awesome movie.

Intense action, great story line with twists and turns throughout, with one of the best onscreen car chases in history. Epic cast with great humour. A film way ahead of its time. A score of 23% on RTs is frankly offensive.

“Bad Boys II” is the definition of chaotic fun. I watched it a lot when I was younger, and honestly, Michael Bay’s style—usually a headache—kinda works here. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have perfect comedy chemistry, bouncing off each other with nonstop jokes that still land. Some sequences are legitimately hilarious, and the action is so over-the-top it’s hard not to enjoy. But man, this movie is *way* too long. Two and a half hours for an action comedy? That’s just indulgent. Trim an hour and you’ve got a sharp, hilarious buddy flick. As is: 3 stars.
