Leslie Felperin Guardian It's Tales of the Mayhem You Damn Well Expect, Nay Insist Upon, Given It Has an 18 Certificate. Rated: 2/5 Sep 29, 2021 Full Review Chris Ward Flickering Myth When Bad Candy is on point it is actually pretty good and very effective at evoking the required seasonal atmosphere. Oct 18, 2021 Full Review Nicolás Delgadillo Knotfest Bad Candy might not have any higher aspirations or deeper thoughts on its mind beyond staging some gory thrills, but it does often feel a bit smarter than other films in the way it sometimes jumps over horror tropes and delivers clever reveals. Sep 21, 2021 Full Review Martin Unsworth Starburst Thanks to the cinematography of co-director Scott Hansen and Blake Studwell, the movie looks great, but the visuals can only do so much. There are a few too many tricks in this bag of sweets. Rated: 3/5 Sep 15, 2021 Full Review Abbie Bernstein Assignment X There is no doubting the skill that goes into Bad Candy's good qualities, and the al-libs/outtakes shown during the closing credits are genuinely funny. Rated: B- Sep 14, 2021 Full Review Joey Keogh Vague Visages As weird as it sounds, the film works best as a showcase for the acting talents of the dude from Slipknot, which is really saying something. Fleegle B A really fun and great Halloween movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/08/24 Full Review Audience Member It's Halloween night and everyone's out celebrating A radio DJ Chilly Billy and his partner Paul are taking requests for callers to come up with the scariest stories to tell It's a big opportunity to dissect each of them and turn them into the stuff of nightmares This is another horror anthology film much like 'Tales of Halloween', 'Trick 'r' Treat' and 'Holidays' with a collection of stories coalescing together Many of them include creepy clowns, flying monsters, the dead coming back to life, and supernatural creations I gotta say the intro is quite long and the effects look very laughably dodgy for a film like this The movie although has a great amount of gore, supernatural elements, and some laugh out loud moments of macabre humor Director and writers Scott Hansen and Desiree Connell evoke the seasonal atmosphere for this horror outing This film manages to jump over horror tropes and delivers clever reveals Ok not everything is 100% convincing for the eyes but man is it fun An hour and a half of crazy shocks and frights plus a nice twist ending makes this Halloween entry reasonably cool Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/16/23 Full Review adam n Was hoping this would be at least a "so bad that it's good" cult film-type situation. Sadly, it's just bad and not worthy of cult status. If you've never seen it, maybe add it to your Halloween line up as a once off, but if you never saw it you wouldn't be missing out on anything. The one thing that deserves praise is the strong practical effects they did on the demonic characters make up. Also, it was cool to see Zach Galligan (from the Gremlins films) contribute to the horror film community as one of the two narrators. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Fred D Bad Candy is bad cinema. Visually, it is surprisingly good, but nothing can make up for the horror of such bad acting and mediocre direction. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/14/22 Full Review jeff l Trick r Treat has this movie beat by a landslide. However, this movie is ok viewing during the Halloween season. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Yung D It was kind of stupid I prob won't watch it again sorry 😐 Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/20/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
