Sheriff Bill Cummings (Robert Barrat) and a posse of nine men set off in pursuit of Apache Jack (Jack Payne), who murdered the new wife of posse member Manuel Lopez (Francis McDonald). In the desert, the group comes across a collection of skeletons near an unexploited vein of silver, and thoughts turn from justice to riches. Under attack from some Apaches, however, the posse is picked off one by one until only Cummings is left waiting for the cavalry.
