Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews Jokey western about double-crosses among schemers that's recommended for simpletons and Van Cleef completists, who must see him in a bowler hat. Rated: D May 27, 2010 Full Review Read all reviews

John F If there was a 0 star rating this movie would deserve it. If it’s supposed to be funny, it fails at that. It’s not “so bad it’s funny”, more like “so bad it’s pathetic”. The most bizarre thing about it is that actors as accomplished as Van Cleef, Mason and Lollobrigida were involved - truly strange. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/27/24 Full Review Audience Member James Mason's acting ability is wasted and so out of place in this low-budget spaghetti western. It's really a pretty typical spaghetti western; the only thing worth noting is the different soundtrack including traditional western music along with some modern 70's rock music. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Corn ball western. Worth checking out. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Western has a woman changing allegiances as she plays various men in order to attain a fortune. Always a treat to watch Van Cleef but never got pulled in by the double-crossing plot. Featured several daring missions and unlikely escapes, which kind of reminded of a Western-era A-Team. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Awful film and fails in both genres as a comedy and a western. It's hard to believe several big names were attracted to be in this tripe. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Kiera M Bad Man's River (or Hunt the Man Down) is about a conman of sorts (Lee Van Cleef) who joins forces with his devious ex-wife (Gina Lollobrigida) in order to swindle the Mexican government. Let's start with the bad. It's quite campy, the plot's a bit scattered, and the characters are thin at best. I don't have a great amount of experience with comedy Westerns, but this one seemed on the nuttier end of the spectrum. The music was somewhat awkward and it's not always clear just what's going on. But I liked this movie! It's pleasantly entertaining and it has this sort of idle amusement, for when you're just looking to plop on the couch and watch something-- which is exactly what I did. I've realized that I'll watch Lee Van Cleef in anything, and it was refreshing seeing him in a far more light-hearted role than usual. So watch it if you love Lee. It certainly isn't the smartest of films, but it is enjoyable. -65% Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/11 Full Review Read all reviews
