Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews Jokey western about double-crosses among schemers that's recommended for simpletons and Van Cleef completists, who must see him in a bowler hat. Rated: D May 27, 2010 Full Review Read all reviews

Nick F Comedy Westerns are an acquired taste, and Bad Man's River is unlikely to help anyone acquire it. Despite established star Lee Van Cleef, miscast British actor James Mason and out of place Gina Lollabrigida, the truly irritating soundtrack, jumbled plot and poor script mean this Spanish-filmed project was doomed from the start. Van Cleef is a conman and thief who leads a motley crew in a bid to steal a million dollars from the Mexican Government. Predictably there is much double crossing, and while the gunplay is well staged, there is little else to commend this movie. There might be a worse comedy Western but right now, I just cannot think of one! Reviewed by NICK FLETCHER Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/28/24 Full Review John F If there was a 0 star rating this movie would deserve it. If it’s supposed to be funny, it fails at that. It’s not “so bad it’s funny”, more like “so bad it’s pathetic”. The most bizarre thing about it is that actors as accomplished as Van Cleef, Mason and Lollobrigida were involved - truly strange. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/27/24 Full Review Audience Member James Mason's acting ability is wasted and so out of place in this low-budget spaghetti western. It's really a pretty typical spaghetti western; the only thing worth noting is the different soundtrack including traditional western music along with some modern 70's rock music. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Corn ball western. Worth checking out. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Western has a woman changing allegiances as she plays various men in order to attain a fortune. Always a treat to watch Van Cleef but never got pulled in by the double-crossing plot. Featured several daring missions and unlikely escapes, which kind of reminded of a Western-era A-Team. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Awful film and fails in both genres as a comedy and a western. It's hard to believe several big names were attracted to be in this tripe.
