Petr Navovy Pajiba Unlike so many bloated yet weightless mainstream action offerings from Hollywood, it will leave you feeling satiated and rejuvenated. Oct 30, 2024 Full Review Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse “Ballerina” is a film that will definitely find some appeal among fans of violent action, but the fact that this aspect takes too long to begin, and that there is nothing particularly memorable here, results in just another flick Rated: 5 Dec 17, 2023 Full Review Elliott Collins Movie Files It’s not as refined but it’s basically John Wick meets Kill Bill! Jeon Jong-seo was incredible and Kim Ji-hoon is great as the villain. Badass fights, amazing soundtrack - go watch this movie! Rated: 4/5 Oct 22, 2023 Full Review Johnny Loftus Decider Lee Chung-hyun draws a lot of style out of a nighttime city alive with danger, Jeon Jong-seo is an asskicker of few words, and the ultimate showdown isn’t any less satisfying just because you knew it was coming. Oct 11, 2023 Full Review James Marsh South China Morning Post A lean and unflinching exercise in neon and blood-drenched action that should sate fans of such movies, despite lacking the genre-bending originality of Lee’s attention-grabbing debut. Rated: 3/5 Oct 9, 2023 Full Review Ricardo Gallegos La Estatuilla Maybe its story is simple but its vibe, audiovisual display and central character are exceptional. Claudio C Ballerina (2023) Another Great South Korean Movie (11,777 – 21 Jun 2025 – by Claudio Carvalho) In Seoul, the skilled bodyguard Jang Ok-joo (Jeon Jong-seo) is depressive and questioning the meaning of her existence. On her birthday, she meets Mun-yeong (Jang Yoon-ju), a.k.a. “Ballerina”, who owns a cake store and dances ballet. They become best friends, saving Ok-joo’s life. When the Ballerina commits suicide in her apartment, Ok-joo finds a note addressed to her asking for revenge and indicating a web site. Soon she learns that the sadistic Choi Pro (Kim Ji-hoon), who belongs to a gang of human traffickers, raped the Ballerina and filmed the session. Further, he has a collection of flash drivers with women being raped by him. She plots a means to meet Choi Pro, but she fails in killing him to revenge the Ballerina. However, she hurts Choi Pro’s face and saves the teenager Min-hee (Park Yu-rim) from his gang. Now her revenge will be more difficult since the king pin of Choi-Pro’s gang, Chief Jo (Kim Mu-yeol), is interested that Ok-joo is hunted down. “Ballerina” (2023) is another great South Korean movie about revenge. Chung-Hyun Lee writes and directs a good story, although with the usual cliches. But the plot is entertaining and full of action from the very beginning. As usual in Netflix movies, the hero Jang Ok-joo is a powerful woman capable to destroy an entire gang of men. Fortunately, this movie was not made by the American Netflix; otherwise, the friendship between Jang Ok-joo and Mun-yeong would certainly be the love between two lesbians. My vote is seven. Title (Brazil): “A Bailarina” (“The Ballerina”) My Blog: https://maniacosporfilme.wordpress.com/ Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/22/25 Full Review Anthony S Excellent movie with phenomenal action sequences, gorgeous female leads and also great acting!! Plus the story was genuine involving characters the audience could really care about and cheer them on!! Korean cinema at it's best!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/08/25 Full Review Mariby M The fact that the movie was incredibly boring.... Ana de Armas made the movie suck literally. Because she married the son of the dictator and lied to his people...this way the movie became unpopular.... Such a waste of money. I definitely won't recommend this movie to anyone. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/08/25 Full Review Cristian s Excelente película para streaming. Historia interesante, buenas escenas de accion, grandes coreografías, buen ritmo, linda visualmente y una duración breve que se pasa volando. La disfrute mas de lo que esperaba. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/25 Full Review Sarfaraz A This South Korean revenge thriller was written and directed by Lee Chung-hyun. Starring Jeon Jong-seo and more. The movie was premiered at Busan International Film Festival. Jeon, an ex security guard for political elites and privates in Africa and the Middle East, receives a call one day from her best friend from school days, who has committed suicide after leaving a note to her asking for revenge on her behalf from someone. It is later revealed that Jeon's best friend was a victim of a sex trafficker, who made explicit videos of her and threatened to blackmail her by sharing her videos with her family and friends. I enjoy watching movies like this because they cheer me up. The South Korean film industry is a trademark for revenge and chase movies. This one now finds the spot on my fave movies in the said genre. In this thriller, the action begins right away. Jeon has executed her role as if she was born to play it. There are good fight sequences and tense scenes. You become concerned about the safety of the vulnerable, which in this case is not Jeon herself but her vulnerable friends and acquaintances. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/25 Full Review ana luiza r Jongseo ates again and the fight and blood scenes are very well done. Excellent script and coloring of the scenery, the whole film left me intrigued and open-mouthed with the acting of the characters. I love it!
