Joe Lipsett Queer.Horror.Movies. The truth is a gentle twist that reframes the narrative and the audience’s empathy for Nolan. It mostly works, paying off what is essentially a lushly photographed two-hander that could work just as easily as a play or a Twilight Zone morality lesson. Rated: 4/5 Jun 16, 2025 Full Review Rebecca Murray Showbiz Junkies It’s the little things that play true that make Bark so deeply (and delightfully) disturbing. Rated: B+ Jun 16, 2025 Full Review DarkSkyLady DarkSkyLady Reviews The climax surprises with an unexpected answer. While the dialogue could sometimes be more compelling, Bark crafts a strained atmosphere with the bare minimum of two enigmatic leads and a lush forest backdrop. Jun 15, 2025 Full Review Tessa Smith Mama's Geeky Bark might be a slow burn, but it still entertains throughout the entire journey and delivers an ending that is more than satisfying. Jun 14, 2025 Full Review Dan Scully ScullyVision Takes your standard single location thriller and elevates it through strong filmmaking and exceptional performances, while also providing plenty of food for thought after the fact. Jan B Very interesting story. It's one of those plots where you really don't know where it's going. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/24/25 Full Review Audience Member Great acting and the scenery was amazing! The story behind the character being tide to the tree when you find out at the end seemed ridiculous. Kind of killed the whole movie. An extreme punishment for what he did which was really messed up. Kind of over the top in my opinion Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/20/25 Full Review Audience Member Watch it! Slight spoiler: If you love dogs more than people, this flick is a must!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/18/25 Full Review B P An Unpredictable Horror Thriller With a Smart Twist. If you enjoy a good self-contained horror thriller, look no further than ‘Bark.’ Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/17/25 Full Review Marcel H Bark is a gripping indie survival thriller that exemplifies why smaller films are the soul of today's cinema. Directed by Marc Schölermann, it uses minimalist storytelling and powerful visual cues to create deep emotional resonance. Michael Weston shines as Nolan, a man mysteriously tied to a tree, while A.J. Buckley delivers a chilling performance as his cryptic captor, The Outdoorsman. With striking cinematography, eerie symbolism, and tight, meaningful dialogue, Bark unfolds like a slow-burn mystery—tense, haunting, and layered. It’s a smart, unsettling film that lingers long after the credits roll. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/17/25 Full Review Freddo F I went into this expecting a slow burn mysterious thriller, perhaps with a touch of horror, but was really disappointed. It starts out being relatively engaging but by the end of the film it becomes apparent that any foreshadowing of the first three quarters is completely irrelevant and the actual story could've been told in 10 minutes. I feel like the movie wasted my time and was unsatisfying and boring. The most interesting part of the film was when the title popped up. We have to wait three long days before anything meaningful happens. Why was there a dream sequence about hippies?? What was the meaning behind the guy feeding him bark?? Why did he attack the outdoorsman instead of biding his time?? Did the outdoorsman even know if the dog was left there by him?? Just throwing people off the scent with pointless scenes isn't mysterious and isn't a substitute for a good story. There's just so many stupid parts that have no explanation and the story could've been so much better. How on earth did everyone who was working on this film think, oh cool, this is going to be enjoyable to watch. I actually got so annoyed about this film that I created an account just to leave this review. Bah Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/15/25 Full Review Read all reviews
