Inspired by the comic book series by Mike Mignola, Richard Pace and Troy Nixey, Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham is a 1920s-based tale that finds explorer Bruce Wayne accidentally unleashing an ancient evil, expediting his return to Gotham City after a two-decade hiatus. The logic/science-driven Batman must battle Lovecraftian supernatural forces threatening the sheer existence of Gotham, along the way being aided and confronted by reimagined versions of his well-known allies and enemies, including Green Arrow, Ra's al Ghul, Mr. Freeze, Killer Croc, Two-Face, James Gordon and Bruce's beloved wards. Prepare for a mystical, often terrifying Batman adventure unlike any other.

The alternate universe for Batman is never explained and that leaves the story too muddled and confusing to be entertaining. The saving grace is the animation is very strong.

The central story is muddied by the gimmickry of origin stories for this or that character. It's yet another superhero animated movie that's best enjoyed by the fans, who will probably have a lot to argue about with this one.

The movie was so boring and slow. I don’t know what they were thinking. The drawings and animation are flat and without any life or something barely interesting. The colors are intentionally pale, grey, light green and brown. Bruce Wayne is so flat and lack of any personality, just as his bunch of young and generic assistants. Foolish actions like blowing up a completely iced cavern, which then is on fire (?) and "sealed" the naked, muscular and weird penguin is laughable. Worst batman film I’ve seen in my life. Dull, pretentious, and extremely boring. It’s a no for me!

Una reinterpretación novedosa y extraña sobre el mundo de Batman. Un elseworld lleno de magia y criaturas lovecraftianas, buen ritmo y linda animación. Lamentablemente no me gustó mucho, en si estuvo buena pero la sentí muy apresurada y que perdió la esencia del encapotado.
