In keeping in line tonally with the rest of the series, as well as for the way it adds new texture to old ideas, "Razor" becomes not so much an anomaly as a valuable part of the story so far.

More of a series of vignettes than a film, some of which are reasonably engaging, and others fall flat. I quite enjoyed young Adama. I did not care for the new character Shaw, whom I found very poorly acted and quite grating. I enjoyed Michelle Forbes in the main series. It felt like she was phoning it in here though

Everything that’s great about the series was complimented by this mid-season spinoff special that dives deeper into the backstory of the Pegasus crew that keeps up with the great BSG dramatic writing and performances.
