Leslie Felperin Guardian An arch, multi-strand, multi-character three-ring circus... Rated: 3/5 Aug 10, 2021 Full Review Cary Darling Houston Chronicle "Beasts Clawing at Straws" is obvious in its influences - a little Coen Brothers here, a little Tarantino there, all seasoned with a sprinkling of Hitchcock paranoia - but Yong-hoon manages to give them his own twist. Rated: 4/5 Dec 2, 2020 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News It's a wicked, twist-filled winner. Rated: 3.5/4 Nov 11, 2020 Full Review Sergio F. Pinilla Cinemanía (Spain) Kim Yong-hoon's debut feature... surprises from the beginning. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 4/5 Dec 8, 2021 Full Review Kiko Vega Espinof An excellent thriller that's as funny as it is diabolical. [Full review in Spanish] Dec 2, 2021 Full Review Aine O'Connor Sunday Independent (Ireland) Although it is a bit daft, you need to pay attention -- and it's good fun. Mic T So much fun all the way to the last moments! At first it seems that it is random tales of people struggling to survive, making bad decisions along the way. But further you go, the more the stories come together. The movie is an interesting mix of dark humor and stories that seem so real that the could have come straight from the pages of a local tabloid. It may start off a little slowly as the director sets the stage, but the further you go, the more you are rewarded. Nicely done! Some very good acting too. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/24 Full Review JJJJJJ J A fast paced thriller that kept me engaged from start to finish. This film is very well directed, has both an engaging narrative and characters. It is a lot of fun and what a good non-serious thriller should be. This film very much is a "fun film". It does not have any real depths or heavy issues dealt with. That does not make it a bad movie just more of a less serious movie. A good movie for those looking for a fun time. I'd put it in my "Top 10 Korean Movies that Americans would like". Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/23/23 Full Review bill f Another great Korean thriller/gangster film, that is stylish, witty and gripping. Some gory violence, so be warned. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/21/22 Full Review Roberto M A series of chapters on human greed, and how each plan is run by chaos. An interlocking game of perfectly plausible stories orchestrated as a score where the leitmotif is money, at any cost. A realistic picture of many societies, and of many people, even without the extremes of plot. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/14/22 Full Review ana s boring movie and confusing most of the time Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review mike l It's pretty good, but you've seen it all before. It's basically Guy Ritchie meets Tarantino. That's a whole other story. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
