So this chick seems to be the embodiment of the spirit of a crappy washing machine. And all these dudes keep trying to seduce, pimp, or rape her. And she just wants to be left alone to clean house in peace. I'm not sure what the point is, unless it is that men secretly want to fuck their washing machines. Maybe it is an entreaty to treat washers more humanely...or women more mechanically. But probably, like all slow, boring, quiet Asian movies, it is supposed to say something about modern urban alienation or some bullshit...but James Lee is no Wong Kar Wai, so it's just a waste of two hours. The acting was okay, though.

This movie is very strange. I'm not sure I would have known what the washing machine had to do with everything if I hadn't read about it first. The characters are interesting though.
