Stephen C Success in 1 hour and 12 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Starring Paige O'Hara as the voice of Belle and Jerry Orbach as the voice of the candlestick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/04/25 Full Review Maverick W Sure the plot is terrible and the early cgi is worse and I can’t not think about the horrible sentence of all of the household staff, but wait… why is the axe Yiddish? Why in the world is the axe Yiddish? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/09/25 Full Review Massimo D Seppur con qualche difetto questo film mi ha trasmesso tanta magia natalizia, i personaggi sono stupendi ma il cattivo è un pò troppo inquietante per un film per bambini Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/24/24 Full Review lexy h Meh. I liked some of the music numbers such as stories and don't fall in love. The main villian is pretty cool as it's played by Jim curry. However , the story just isn't that good and it does high light a very toxic relationship between belle and beast - even worse then the original film. Definitely not worth watching Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/09/24 Full Review TheMovieSearch R Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is one of the greatest animated films ever created, a perfect blend of heart, artistry, and timeless storytelling. Which is why Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas feels so out of place, and honestly, unnecessary. Released direct-to-video in 1997, this holiday-themed “midquel” tries to insert a Christmas celebration into the middle of the original film’s narrative, but the result is awkward, uninspired, and ultimately forgettable. The biggest issue lies in the film’s very existence. Instead of carrying forward the magic of the original story, The Enchanted Christmas tries to shoehorn holiday cheer into a tale that was already perfectly self-contained. It doesn’t align with the tone or continuity of the original masterpiece. The Beast’s transformation was about redemption, love, and patience—yet here, he is reduced once again to fits of anger and pouting, undermining the growth we witnessed in the first film. It feels regressive, like the writers were willing to bend the characters backwards just to fit in a quick Christmas cash-in. The villain, Forte, a gloomy pipe organ voiced by Tim Curry, is emblematic of the film’s problems. While Curry brings his usual energy to the role, the character design and the choice of making a pipe organ the antagonist feels odd and out of place. Rather than a threatening presence, Forte feels more like a gimmick, and his motivations lack the depth or menace needed to carry the film. Visually, the animation pales in comparison to the lush artistry of the 1991 classic. Flat, clunky, and at times lifeless, it makes the film feel more like a Saturday morning cartoon special than a worthy addition to Disney’s catalog. Even the Christmas theme, which should have added warmth and magic, feels undercooked, with set pieces and songs that never rise to the grandeur of the original’s unforgettable soundtrack. For very young children, The Enchanted Christmas might work as seasonal background entertainment. But for fans who grew up with the magic of Beauty and the Beast, it’s a glaring disappointment. It doesn’t enrich the world, it doesn’t deepen the characters, and it doesn’t honor the legacy of one of Disney’s most beloved films. In the end, The Enchanted Christmas feels less like a genuine celebration of the original story and more like an uninspired attempt to cash in on holiday spirit. It’s a curiosity at best, but one that fades quickly from memory. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/24/25 Full Review Dale R This is a production of Disney’s television animation division and was a direct to DVD release. Mrs. Potts tells the story of the Christmas spent when Belle was still a prisoner in Beast’s castle. If you have seen the original film, there is little suspense in this one as you know how everything turns out. There are some questions about the timeline and how this movie fits into the first. The voice acting is good, as all the original cast returns with four new additions: Paul Reubens as Fife, Bernadette Peters as Angelique, Jeff Bennett as Axe and Tim Curry as Forte. All the new additions do a great job with what they are given. This is a fine Christmas movie to have playing in the background as it does not demand much attention.
