In this Disney animated sequel, the lovely Belle (Paige O'Hara) and her monstrous beau, Beast (Robby Benson), are in the midst of the holiday season. While Belle has no problem getting into the Christmas spirit, Beast isn't so easily swayed into a celebratory mood. Meanwhile, the castle's pipe organ, Forte (Tim Curry), becomes opposed to Belle's presence, as well as to her holiday decorating, and schemes to put an end to both her relationship with Beast and any Christmas festivities to boot.

lexy h Meh. I liked some of the music numbers such as stories and don't fall in love. The main villian is pretty cool as it's played by Jim curry. However , the story just isn't that good and it does high light a very toxic relationship between belle and beast - even worse then the original film. Definitely not worth watching Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/09/24 Full Review SkyRo P Walt Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" is a timeless tale that has captivated audiences with its enchanting story. However, when it comes to sequels, we didn’t receive a true follow-up but rather three direct-to-video films that explored lesser-known events in the castle during quiet moments of the original film. One such sequel is "Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas," which attempts to fill in the gaps of the characters’ lives during the holiday season. Unfortunately, this film doesn’t align with the tone or continuity of the original. It feels like a missed opportunity, raising questions about why Disney chose to invest in this project. While it was likely an effort to capitalize on the success of the first film, the result is largely forgotten, with critics echoing this sentiment in their reviews. While "The Enchanted Christmas" may entertain very young children, it lacks the depth and timeless appeal of the original. Once you reach an age beyond six, the film feels overly simplistic and juvenile. In contrast, the third installment, "Belle’s Magical World," does introduce a new character and revolves around Belle reading stories, which is fitting for her character. However, it too suffers from a lack of substance and feels more like a collection of anecdotes rather than a cohesive narrative. Despite being an improvement over "The Enchanted Christmas," "Belle’s Magical World" still doesn’t capture the emotional weight that made the original so special. The friendships and relationships depicted feel underdeveloped and transient, serving more as a vehicle for marketing than as a means to further the story. Ultimately, if a true sequel were to be made, it should have been crafted by the original team behind "Beauty and the Beast." They understood the delicate balance of light and dark, joy and sorrow, which is essential for a compelling narrative. A true continuation of this beloved story deserves the same level of passion and craftsmanship that characterized the original film. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/07/24 Full Review Dale R This is a production of Disney’s television animation division and was a direct to DVD release. Mrs. Potts tells the story of the Christmas spent when Belle was still a prisoner in Beast’s castle. If you have seen the original film, there is little suspense in this one as you know how everything turns out. There are some questions about the timeline and how this movie fits into the first. The voice acting is good, as all the original cast returns with four new additions: Paul Reubens as Fife, Bernadette Peters as Angelique, Jeff Bennett as Axe and Tim Curry as Forte. All the new additions do a great job with what they are given. This is a fine Christmas movie to have playing in the background as it does not demand much attention. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Nathan B Really puts the Christ in being chained to the wall Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/06/24 Full Review Melissa R Listen, I know it's mostly nostalgia, but it's a Christmas must for me. To have most of the original voice cast to return for a straight-to-VHS movie? Wonderful. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/24/23 Full Review Elizabeth E My daughter always loves watching this. It is definitely direct to video, not big theater worthy. It has some scary elements, so not for very young, but it is entertaining enough and has a nice message.
