Audience Member A Filipino action-comedy film directed by the late Wenn Deramas, Beauty and the Bestie was top billed by Vice Ganda and Coco Martin in lead roles as past best friends who happened to meet again with unresolved past issues. The movie is funny as funny it is given that Vice Ganda is known for his comedy antics and his hilarious roles in the pat comedy movies. The addition of Coco Martin in the cast gave the traditional comedy movies of Vice Ganda, a new breath of fresh air thru injecting action genre into the film. James Reid and Nadine Lustre's love team addition in the film is unnecessary. Beauty and the Bestie will succeed even without them but I understand that it was necessary for marketing, promotion and income of the film. The film's story is new and it surely does thrive in comedy punchlines and hilarious set-up but I honestly find the comic antics in this movie were lesser funny and laughable than the previous movies of Deramas-Ganda tandem.
