Audience Member Viceland is my new favorite Roku channel. I remember watching and loving Vice on HBO a few years ago and for whatever reason it fell off my radar. They have a very hip, edgy style -- sort of like the adult version of MTV. One of there shows is called Beerland, which is what led me back to the Vice brand. "Beerland follows Golden Road Brewing founder, Meg Gill, as she sets out on a cross-country journey to meet with home-brewers and find the best brews in each city she travels to." I am loving this show. I am 5 episodes deep and trying to pace myself, but it is the best show about craft beer I have seen so far. Gill has a very laid back disposition that fits perfectly with the Vice vibe. Sometimes the conversations can be a bit awkward, but that is sort of why I love it. It feels real. Clearly they prompt their guests to say and do things to help move the story forward, but most of the time it feels like they are just rolling cameras while people drink beers and shoot the shit. I added the Viceland channel to my Roku TV and haven't had to pay any subscription fees or update my cable plan, so kudos to them for that. I think Vice is more in-tune with millennial culture than any other media company out there right now. I'm excited to continue my Beerland binge then migrate over to their other series in the coming months.
