Critics Consensus

Michael Keaton's devious poltergeist still has plenty of juice left in this madcap return to form for Tim Burton, marrying charming practical effects and ghoulish gags to provide a fun fun time.

Mark Kermode Kermode and Mayo's Take (YouTube) Unlike the Ghostbusters reboots, this does have at least some of the charm of the original. Sep 20, 2024 Full Review Stephen Romei The Australian Beetlejuice Beetlejuice shines with Burton's striking visual style and dry wit. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 20, 2024 Full Review Christina Newland iNews.co.uk There’s a resultant clumsiness to it that makes the traditional zaniness of the whole project feel telegraphed. Rated: 2/5 Sep 17, 2024 Full Review Paul Salfen AMFM Magazine A delightfully dark and often silly ride that gives us a taste of classic Burton that of course won’t beat the original in many fans’ eyes just like most sequels, but will give that nice hit of nostalgia and enough of something new to keep most happy. Rated: 8/10 Nov 26, 2024 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Just like the Maitlands in the 1988 original, this entry seems to be stuck between two worlds, often working as a tuned-in sequel to the first flick but other times failing to capitalize on established material. Rated: 2.5/4 Nov 23, 2024 Full Review James Kendrick Q Network Film Desk Burton is clearly endeavoring to maintain the same tone of carnivalesque horror-humor, but there is something about the new film that feels too modern, too digital, and too overdone Rated: 2.5/4 Nov 22, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Stephanie Awesome sequel. Winona Ryders performance wasnt what I expected but loved the story and the Easter eggs. Tim Burton is a movie genius. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/04/24 Full Review Chris D I thought that this was an amazing sequel to the original did everything they should have for a sequel. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/03/24 Full Review Jonathan M everything was great except for the stupid soul train idea. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review Flame Wizard It was pretty good movie, but not as great as the original. Didn’t realize how popular it is until i seen other spectators cosplaying as the characters to watch the movie too. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/01/24 Full Review JoniQ The sequel is a bit of a slow burn. It's fun but takes over half of the movie to really pick up. The way they played off the father/grandfather (Jeffery Jones) is an interesting choice for obvious reasons. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/01/24 Full Review Vanessa Very disappointing!!!
