Before I Change My Mind is an exceptional coming of age film that is emotionally impactful without being saccharine or histrionic. The performances are quiet and the narrative is surprisingly gentle. This is an assured, rich, and powerful feature debut.

I love the main character, they remind me of myself. The twists and relationship between the other characters are amazing. The ending of the movie made me drop my jaw and left me thinking. I love it!

This film is a beautiful look at life growing up in a world that is just somehow a little different than you’d like. And it presents a story a little different that you might expect. This is a unique perspective on life growing up - a look at character we all had in our life but rarely gets the starring character in the story.

Director Anderson puts every dollar up and then some on the screen with loads of production value, subtle characterization, gorgeous music and numerous story-within-a-story flourishes to create his odd yet eerily believable 80s-era southern Alberta. Tons of fun!
