Audience Member This movie seems to mess up everything that was great about the 2012 Short Film "Curfew". This is prime example of how not to turn a short film into a feature. The saddest part is that many of really wanted this to be good, but it isn't. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie touched on several subjects that many shy away from and to a nice soundtrack. The metaphors and imagery were pleasing and the hopeful ending was just satisfying enough to not come off too cheesy Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review thomas l What started as a slow story with flat characters and tedious first person dialog, covering a difficult subject, picked up enough steam to keep it interesting to the very end. Kudos to Fatima Ptacek for adding spark to the movie, and Emmy Rossum, Ron Pearlman and Richard Sciff for adding familiar faces. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Script, cast and overall a good solid film. Highly recommend. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member After watching a wide variety or attempts at pulling at my heart, this has been one of the few movies that made my jaw drop. The plot is so scattered and slow pace, but that is part of the beauty in this art. I could feel the misery that so many of us have felt..The depression and the come downs. I'm impressed. Jason Bailey Flavorwire Christensen, who not only stars but writes, produces, and directs, does about a dozen things simultaneously that most movies can't get right individually. Jun 7, 2016 Full Review Tom Keogh Seattle Times "Before I Disappear" would be a better movie if would-be triple-threat talent Shawn Christensen got out of his own way. Rated: 2/4 Jan 8, 2015 Full Review Tomas Hachard NPR Before I Disappear is ultimately hampered not by a messy plot but by bland characters who, for the most part, don't so much talk to each other as they monologue at each other. Dec 5, 2014 Full Review Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com It's a tale that requires a strong, emotional component to be successful, and its glaring absence only becomes more and more apparent. Rated: 2/5 Sep 12, 2019 Full Review Emily Sears Birth.Movies.Death. For all its dark humor and dire situations, Before I Disappear conveys that a little forgiveness and a little time with someone who cares can bring a little hope before it's too late. Sep 26, 2017 Full Review Molly Laich Vanguard Seattle This is a humorous, emotional and engrossing film. Dec 2, 2016 Full Review Read all reviews
