Simon T Considering it was made only 3 years after the advent of sound, this is a well-designed and photographed potboiler, with decent naturalistic performances. The plot involves a jailbreak, a mysterious (and rather hammy) doctor, Boris Karloff in an early supporting role, drug running, and an FBI agent in disguise. Not bad.
