In the run-up to the 2008 Olympic games held in China's capital, three cabdrivers take viewers on a tour not only of the place but also of their lives in the rapidly changing and dynamic city. Beijing is a beehive of new construction, with buildings that seem to go up overnight. Through the bustle and the tumult, the drivers try to maintain their way of life and cope with the many changes around them. They manage to do so with grace, cleverness and generous dollops of humor.

Rated: 4/5 Dec 9, 2010 Full Review Ronnie Scheib Variety Throughout, the drivers are framed against the various cityscapes they traverse, though their philosophical views on what is unfolding around them differs with age and temperament. Dec 9, 2010 Full Review Matthew Nestel Boxoffice Magazine Shadowing the ups and bunny-hill downs of three cabbies, Wang's documentary will entreat loads of audiences to get first hand-to-mouth evidence that a nation's prosperity doesn't turn every bean into magical stalk.
