Overlong at three hours, this film is an exhaustive history of France's relations w/ Jews since the Dreyfus affair in the 1890s. Some of the events were new to me and it's a thoroughly shocking chronicle. The film includes the current rise of anti-Semitism and has superlative testimony of witnesses and fascinating archival film. I saw it at the Film Society of Lincoln Center, March 19, 2009.
