Nequinho B Dec 3 This movie is incredibly insensitive to an incredibly difficult time in Timorese history. The movie paints Timorese resistance members as crazed animals and pictures indonesia and indonesian culture as just. The climax of the film was the ultimate disgust to Timorese history. The film blames the suffering of the timorese people on the actions of the resistance when its commonly documented that the Indonesian army used scorched earth tactics to cripple the timorese economy. The film's rendition of Xanana, renowned war hero, is completley false. Xanana famously ordered that no soldier is to engage in combat around civilian areas, instead the film paints him as a crazed warlord which wants to attack the capital and burn down villages.
