David Stratton The Australian ...the production design by Clayton Jauncey is particularly impressive with the dank, dripping trenches seeming to echo the futility of it all. Apr 29, 2020 Full Review David Stratton At the Movies (Australia) You've got to give full marks for the look of the film. It looks absolutely great. Rated: 3/5 Aug 19, 2010 Full Review Jim Schembri The Age (Australia) The film certainly deserves to stand alongside such films as Gallipoli (1981), Kokoda, The Odd Angry Shot (1979) and Breaker Morant (1979). Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 19, 2010 Full Review Margaret Pomeranz At the Movies (Australia) Perhaps the tension of the situation is not exploited quite as much as one would hope but this is an ambitious project that will resonate. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 19, 2010 Full Review Julie Rigg MovieTime, ABC Radio National How they did it, and what it cost is the real story. I'm glad it's told as well as it is. Aug 19, 2010 Full Review Darryn King The Vine Has every chance of joining the ranks of Gallipoli and Breaker Morant. It may even contribute to future generations' understanding of the Australian experience in the Great War. Aug 19, 2010 Full Review Read all reviews

Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Fantastic film, epic and action packed. Townsville provided a perfect location for filming. I have watched it many many times and will continue to do so. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review isaac m I don't watch a lot of foreign films, especially from Australia. But Beneath Hill 60 was like 1917 but with Australian actors and different atmosphere. I really enjoyed the battle sequences, artistic background, the performances and storytelling. I do have some issues with the historical context but it's nothing major. It's rare to find a good movie that is made outside of the US that really puts effort on the context of WW1. Overall, Beneath Hill is a good war film from the outback. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member cricky! what a wallidingo of a movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Very good movie! A must see. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Great in every respect. Well worth watching. Better than Gallipoli. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews
