It's not that the effects couldn't take me there, it's that my brain didn't want to go. Talking apes were honestly the highlight of this movie, it was everything else that went wrong. The plot felt like a poor attempt at patching together a sequel out of nothing, sorely missing the guide provided by the book for the first one. This movie went down by far the worst rabbit hole.

Did not care for this movie very much at all, the plot was very twisted and had a lot of holes. In general, the story felt horridly rushed. in my opinion, the movie should’ve been more planned out in order for the sequel to be more enjoyable as well.
