John Petrakis Chicago Tribune This film would be an excellent companion piece to Wim Wenders' Wings of Desire, which deals with angels looking down on this scarred city. Rated: 3/4 Dec 13, 2002 Full Review Jonathan Foreman New York Post Hubertus' deliberate flouting of any chronological order turns his film into an incoherent collection of conversations and images. Audience Member Thankful for English dubbing. The plot twists are interesting but I’m still confused. Only on season 1 episode 4. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/21 Full Review Audience Member Amazing set, strong characters. Adventurous historical fiction created with flair. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review l.d. b This is a must-see for anyone that enjoys a good period drama. The blending of fact and fiction in 1929 Germany is wonderfully done. I have to admit that the show unpacks a lot of information to the viewer in the first four episodes, however, it is well worth the time and effort to watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a fascinating and ENDLESS series about Berlin between WW I and WW II. It's beautifully filmed, though quite violent. It's good to learn about this time historically, as its accuracy, I don't know; it's 16 segments long. There is a lot of nudity and even pornography, which might offend American, more Puritanical audiences. I believe it originated in Germany and European audiences are much more tolerant of sex.
