It is, hands down, the best Japanese horror movie in decades, and quite possibly the single best horror movie you’ll see this year, period. Go to Full Review

The thinly veiled commentary on aspects of modern Japanese society may fly over offshore viewers’ heads streaming on Shudder, but genre fans will appreciate the bizarre story’s sinister, twisty progress. Go to Full Review

The type of unsettling, high-concept horror film that knows exactly what it wants to be and executes it with unforgiving verve. Go to Full Review

It’s in the tradition of Kafka or David Lynch, where the failure to cohere is part of the logic of nightmare. Go to Full Review

A film that uses resources from horror and suspense films to develop a story that has much to say about the nature of human happiness and the selfishness inherent in many people who only think about themselves. [Full review in Spanish]. Go to Full Review

While it’s a very efficient psychological horror movie, it also has several physical elements to its story. Often in ways that are more shocking and icky than downright brutal and cruel. Go to Full Review

Hugo S Jul 12 A compassionate girl leaves Tokyo to visit her grandparents in the countryside. Upon her arrival, she becomes aware of the disturbing behaviour of the elderly couple. The strange occurrences reveal the terrifying source of her family's happiness, challenging the young girl's sanity and perception of reality. "Best Wishes To All" is a dark and satirical view on the cost of happiness, reminding us how contentment strongly depends on the exploitation of those who are in a vulnerable position — a perverse kind of happiness. The story uses symbolic and conceptual imagery to pass its social commentary. Despite some of its excessive weirdness, the movie is an interesting piece of artsy and unsettling filmmaking. Just remember, if your friends or family offer your some of their homemade miso… say no! See more Logan L Jun 28 The allegory around which Best Wishes To All revolves is both an interesting, if dark, one and a prominent one. Some of the weirder scenes feel a little forced, and the execution of the premise leaves something to be desired, but this is still one of the better Japanese films in a while.
