A real-world first-person shooter causes mayhem in this preposterous sci-fi action-thriller. Go to Full Review

Beta Test, directed, written and produced by Nicholas Gyeney, squanders a brilliantly inventive action premise with a comically silly disregard for necessary realism. Go to Full Review

Anastassia H Jan 5 I love the story line but a lot of the (not video game controlled) fight scenes were either too slow or too unrealistic. I loved all the fight scenes when max is controlling the body! Good amount of gore without going over the top, good amount of empathy evoking - especially when max realizes what's happening. Overall not bad, but not sure I'd watch it again. See more Peter B 03/12/2024 Very underrated indie throwback to 90s action! See more 11/22/2021 Underrated independent action movie. Calls back to 90s movies See more 01/23/2020 It starts strong and does quite a few things to move this genre of film in the right direction. Sadly, it takes just as many missteps and ultimately feels like a complicated, silly mess of a plot. See more 03/22/2019 It’s gamer on a much smaller budget and to be fair to this film it doesn’t do it any worse either See more 01/28/2019 Claims to have the longest single-shoot fight scene in cinema history. Unfortunately, that's not a compliment. It's the most pointless, illogical part of the whole movie. It's a decent premise and an okay plot, but as the movie becomes more "real world" and less "videogame," the writing and direction actually get more videogammish. This could have been a decent movie--if they hadn't tried to cover weak writing with mediocre, nonsensical action. See more Read all reviews
