Audience Member A well acted drama about to victims brought together. One is an ex - priest and one is a woman who has been attacked. Its tv feel and cheap quality doesnt mean this is bad as its well acted and interesting. Nice to see Hugh Sachs in something other than Benidorm Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Primarily a relationship story, it skirts around some serious issues to give it its depth. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Not the greatest film ever, dull and uninteresting!. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Tim Robey Empire Magazine It's frightfully sincere and the sex scenes are a whole new level of unconvincing. Rated: 1/5 Jun 19, 2009 Full Review David Jenkins Time Out As well-intentioned as it is deathly dull, this moody, London-set indie attempts to fuse a sprawling, right-on social agenda with a tenderly wrought mismatched romance and doesn't manage to say anything interesting about either. Rated: 2/5 Jun 19, 2009 Full Review Ed Potton Times (UK) The acting, script and production values rarely rise above film-school level and, once she has drawn him some anatomical diagrams (really!), the bedroom scenes are just awful. Rated: 1/5 Jun 19, 2009 Full Review Catherine Bray Film4 Quite simply one of the more embarrassing films we've ever seen, Beyond The Fire is bad in a way that only a film aspiring to deal with a serious, sensitive subject and falling flat on its face can be. Rated: 2/5 Jun 19, 2009 Full Review Elliott Noble Sky Cinema Loathe to say it, but even after the closing stats about rape and the amount of compensation paid out by the Vatican, Beyond The Fire has little more resonance than a Madonna video. Rated: 2/5 Jun 19, 2009 Full Review Kevin Harley Total Film Sin, sexual abuse, erotic salvation... Director Maeve Murphy's thick stew is worthy but heavy like a sledgehammer.
