“Beyond the silence” is an unflinching and heartfelt portrayal of people dealing with mental illness, and those who love and support them. Stories of mental illness and the devastating effects their condition have on their spouses and children are handled in a caring and respectful manner, and they are touching and relatable. Many of us know friends and family with mental health issues, and this movie highlights the universal nature of this widespread crisis. The acting ensemble portrays their roles with sincereity, the actors playing cocky attorney Toby Johnson and mental patient Billy R. Michaels are standouts. This is an important film that should be seen and shared
