jesse o This is a good film. I actually liked its simplicity most of all, the story is focused and the fact that the film doesn't try to go too over-the-top with the drama, when it really could have, and most other films WOULD have, since the more dramatic moments end up feeling more powerful. They don't beat you over the head with the drama and that's really rewarding as a viewer, it doesn't come across as pandering. The film is also gorgeous to look at, the cinematography is just outstanding. The acting is strong, Agnieszka Grochowska does a great job at selling the desperation she feels to get her son the medicine he needs, but, again, she doesn't overact and her performance is very believable. I actually liked it more than the rating implies, but at the same time I don't feel as comfortable giving it 4 stars, for some reason or another. Still a really good film that tells the heartbreaking story of this mother trying to do everything she can for her sick son with some great acting and breathtaking visuals. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
