Guy Lodge Variety The arthouse normalization of the gay romance continues apace in [this] carefully crafted, gently moving debut feature. Jul 4, 2012 Full Review David Rooney Hollywood Reporter Solid in construction and persuasively acted, the drama is strongest in the establishing sections of intoxicating passion. May 24, 2012 Full Review Phil Hall Examiner.com Sensitive drama about a doomed gay romance. Audience Member The thing is the first act was okay, then all hell broke loose. I could accept the major plot points but there was really disappointing stuff in it all. This could have been so much better. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought that this film was very good, especially the acting, which helps to convey the sadness and sense of loss that these two men ultimatley feel. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Be patient with this one. About halfway through, the story takes a turn, and then the passion comes to the surface. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Surprisingly feeling good in general. Although I am not really feeling all right with the storyline after the twist & turn, the ending successfully bounces- as long as you can go with the flow for the a bit melodramatic setting. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Another great film from the excellent catalogue of Peccadillo Pictures. It's a story with a similar vein to 2011's Weekend. Writer/director David Lambert is a touch less positive in his mood! Barman, Ilir, supplies Paolo with a bed for the night after he gets wasted in his bar. The two strike up a rapid and intense relationship which becomes heart-breaking when Ilir is arrested for drug possession and ends up in jail. It is a film wrought with emotion and you allegiance to one side of the relationship does waver throughout. The two male leads (Guillaume Gouix & Matila Malliarakis;recently seen in The Returned) are excellent and it is a fine study of the emotions of an intense impossible relationship. Certainly up there with the films of the year thus far. Highly recommend. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie was a boring drag. I really hated both of the main characters and found nothing interesting about either of them. The main guy's ugly wig was distracting too. The plot stalled out about half way through and then I found myself frustrated with how lame the whole thing was. The cinematography was pretentious and we ended up in the dark in multiple scenes. The end was drawn out and big let down compared to the over-dramatics I'd had to endure for the rest of it. If I would've been at home I would've ejected this disc about twenty minutes into it in a huff. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
