The story is set in 1980's India, where two kids, Bhola and Shambhu, struggle with their understanding of faith and religion while experiencing the everyday challenges of childhood, conservative upbringing and communal surroundings until their idyllic world is blown apart by events that they themselves can no longer fathom.

Udita Jhunjhunwala Livemint Director Shiladitya Bora's debut feature film extracts wonderful performances from its young cast. Jun 24, 2024 Full Review Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express A simplistic film that fails to do justice to its engaging protagonists. Rated: 2/5 Oct 18, 2023 Full Review Dhaval Roy The Times of India The film is thought-provoking without being preachy. What truly stands out about the movie is the strong message it delivers without letting go of the compelling story and narrative. Catch this one for its immersive experience. Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 18, 2023 Full Review Nandini Ramnath Scroll.in Producer-distributor Shiladitya Bora’s directorial debut is good with the small details. But it’s the big picture that’s unsatisfactory. Oct 18, 2023 Full Review Dallas King Flick Feast A surprisingly affecting film, in no small part thanks to the central performance of Satendra Soni. For a young actor with only one previous screen credit, he delivers an incredibly naturalistic performance that perfectly captures that loss of innocence. Rated: 3/5 Sep 10, 2023 Full Review Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse Much more than a children's movie, “Bhagwan Bharose” may have some issues with the story, but as a whole, emerges as a very entertaining film that also makes a rather pointed and realistic comment about how violence in the particular setting is created Rated: 6.5 Jul 8, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
