Udita Jhunjhunwala Livemint The oversized and awkward, cute and caring Baymax could easily be the preferred stocking stuffing this Christmas. Aug 5, 2019 Full Review Brandon Ambrosino Vox What you might not have heard before is the way this film laces that basic story with beautiful themes that push back against some of the assumptions of the genre. Sep 26, 2016 Full Review Geoffrey Macnab Independent (UK) The film deals in a subtle and moving way with grief and teenage anxiety while serving up all the thrills of a big-budget animated movie with superhero protagonists. Rated: 4/5 Feb 2, 2015 Full Review Don Shanahan Every Movie Has a Lesson Brimming with fun humor, busy action, and imaginative science, what really wins is the story and Disney picked a winner. Rated: 4/5 Feb 16, 2024 Full Review Joseph Garcia Dynamic Duel Podcast While a very loose adaptation of the comics, the film presents a fun, scientific approach to superheroics alongside a heartfelt story about coping with loss. Rated: 4.5/5 Apr 25, 2023 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand [It] is an adaptation of a Marvel Comics title but the filmmakers thoroughly transform it into a Disney feature, complete with issues of loss and family at the center of the creation of a student superhero team... Hayleigh P. Why does this movie have to be so god dang sad.. (the reason for the 4.5 ⭐️) the end makes it better and the fact he remembered him and they all got to do what they do best like nothing ever happened, just tugs at your heart strings 😫 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/21/25 Full Review Kamil U Great animation, cool characters, and good story! I love it! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/20/25 Full Review Alexander L. This movie was good. It had heart and a good story. It's characters were great here, but were vastly and awe-inspiringly expanded upon in Big Hero 6 the Series. This movie deserves a sequel, or another sequel show that ties into/mentions BH6 the Series (and for the IDW comics to return). The storytelling was good, and I still think so about 10 years later. And the fact that this is marvel makes it so much cooler! It's in the marvel multiverse (it's adapted from the marvel comics team), and is set on the Earth number 14123 starting in the year 2032. This movie and its TV shows were overall great. I hope this franchise continues. This movie doesn't need the live-action treatment it needs the more respect treatment in the form of sequels/tie ins. While the worldbuilding is touched upon too much in the movie, it is in the TV shows, comics, and movie tie-in material. While Tumblr and fanfiction give the franchise a moderate amount of love, Big Hero 6 needs more love from Disney. They should cameo in Avengers Secret Wars. So overall a nice movie. I recommend it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/16/25 Full Review Donavin D Released during the height of superhero movies, Big Hero 6 stood out with its bright, vibrant world, a compelling protagonist in Hiro, a lovable breakout star in Baymax, and a strong supporting cast. It’s one of those rare animated films that effortlessly blends heart, humor, and action—and it’s not one to miss. Much like its setting of San Fransokyo, the film is a successful fusion of unexpected elements. It mixes classic Disney charm with a team pulled from a relatively obscure Marvel manga—and somehow, it all works. Themes of loss, grief, and forgiveness are present from the start, giving the story emotional weight. This isn’t just another hero vs. villain = big fight formula. It’s a story about healing, with superheroes simply woven into the backdrop. That’s not to say the film is light on action—it delivers some big, exciting sequences—but they’re filtered through a lens of trauma and growth, adding a level of maturity that many live-action superhero films lack. With stunning animation, a heartfelt story, and an instantly iconic character in Baymax, Big Hero 6 shines in a genre that often struggles to feel fresh. What could have been a forgettable adaptation becomes something genuinely special. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/16/25 Full Review antonis a Amazing movie great axion and for technology enthusiasts is great choice Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/24/25 Full Review Rey R An absolute classics for families even after decades. Big Hero 6 is not like many heroes based movies I've seen. There are ups and down but there are more ups than down and that's good enough for me. Big Hero 6 leave very memorable movie and I still remember some of the scenes in my head even after years watching the movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/09/25 Full Review Read all reviews
