isla s This is an amusing film from the 1960s. The plot is pretty simple and it certainly provided a fair few chuckles, with Sid James being his usual cockney self with lines such as 'Luckily me face broke me fall!' 'we left fifteen hundred knicker...' and numerous jokes/quips about their money being hidden and the like. It was, I believe, pre-'carry on' film franchise, although there's definitely similar elements of play, with some slapstick comedy and wordplay via silly puns and the like. Its an easy watch and I found it quite entertaining. A little basic perhaps, if I'm to be very critical but I thought it was a good bit of fun and enjoyed it, so I'd say its worth a watch, hence I'd recommend it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Almost a "Carry On" film. :-) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Essentially the 'Carry On' that wasn't. It's almost the same style, and given its the same director, much of the same cast, and made in between half a dozen of the aforementioned series you'd be forgiven for thinking it was. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Despite the presence of Sid James, Joan Sims, Jim Dale, and director Gerald Thomas, "The Big Job" was not considered one of the "Carry On" movies. But it's quite amusing nonetheless, with James in good form as the leader of the pack of crims. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Love it classic comedy, great cast from a time when comedy was actually funny. dick emery is fab in this Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
