Bruce Kirkland Toronto Sun Big News from Grand Rock is a fictional romp with a poignant core. Rated: 3/5 Feb 27, 2015 Full Review Brad Wheeler Globe and Mail A straight-faced but screwball comedy that's a little dated - rotary-dial phones? - yet absolutely pleasing. Rated: 3/4 Feb 27, 2015 Full Review Bruce DeMara Toronto Star Writer/director Daniel Perlmutter presents a sweet little comedy satirizing life in a small town that is more likely to produce gentle smiles than laugh-out-loud guffaws. Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 26, 2015 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse Errs on the side of predictability but a winning cast and a timely message make it headline worthy. Rated: 3/5 Feb 2, 2021 Full Review C.J. Prince Way Too Indie Big News from Grand Rock is a very modest film, one that can only get by on its modest charms. Rated: 6.5/10 Jun 6, 2019 Full Review Brian Gibson Vue Weekly (Edmonton, Alberta) An overlong (even at 87 min.), ho-hum affair. The premise is fairly broad and remains fairly silly. It's not that Big News from Grand Rock lacks bigness or grandness--its problem is there's no new-ness or bite or grit to its merely amiable comedy. May 25, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Hilife Health Care r What a dumb movie. This one had promise but the execution and the story line is stupid beyond belief. I just don't understand how producers can waste money on a movie that has such a stupid story line. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Low budget Canadian comedy about the problems of a small town local paper. Cast mostly with the usual roster of Canadian talent. A pleasant 1 1/2 hrs. but the low budget certainly shows and the ending, while a good parody of small town corruption is a bit silly, but in a sweet Canadian way. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member As a 10 minutes short movie .....maybe. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews
