It's not much good, though certainly not boring. Go to Full Review
Anthony Quinn Independent (UK) 05/13/2020
Andrea simply doesn't have the comic nerve or timing to carry it off, and the look of his film is horribly drab - little wonder when most of it was shot in the Isle of Man and Wales, neither of them a convincing stand-in for Oregon. Go to Full Review

The tone shift is a little too extreme for mainstream success, but Schwimmer and Pegg provide a solid, blackly comic centre to an original crime caper. Go to Full Review

It's slightly clever from time to time, but it's pieced together in an entirely forgettable manner. Go to Full Review

An imitation of other indie noirs it may be, but Big Nothing is one film that offers more than its title suggests. Go to Full Review

Go rent the 1974 film Dirty Mary Crazy Larry; it's got a similar-ish plot and the car chases are better. Go to Full Review

Ricardo D Jun 15 Lol Critic didn't understand comedy See more Steve C Jun 6 This is a solid dark comedy that is well written. The cast does a great job, with a crafty script and the movie is paced well. It's fun, has a bit of suspense, and the sound track is cool. The real surprise is Schwimmer. He manages to win you over without channeling Ross. See more john h May 31 A must-see for all Simon Pegg fans. The comedy and subtle inferences in Big Nothing aren't attracted by everyone, although, if you happen to understand the chemistry of the film's comedy and theatrical-like structure, then it will be a fun rollercoaster ride for all comedy-crime lovers. Co-written by the director Jean-Baptiste Andrea and the story being marginally supported and driven by the cast. Such performances by Jon Polito as the ridiculously deceptive detective, Natascha McElhone as David Schwimmer's wife, the struggling father, Simon Pegg as the American pathological liar and Alice Eve as the counterpart to the movie's "Oregon Murderer" all wrap the film up into an extremely interesting, niche watch. See more 12/01/2021 3.4 silly but effective See more michael a @Vikesmike 05/07/2021 I Liked it. It was wittily funny in a way that Pegg and Schwimmer could only pull off. I laughed out loud in places, which was unexpected, but satisfying. The plot meananders a bit, and the ending takes a bit too long, but overall I would recommend this movie for a Thursday night when you don't want to do too much. It certainly keeps you entertained.
