Audience Member 3.4 silly but effective Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/01/21 Full Review michael a I Liked it. It was wittily funny in a way that Pegg and Schwimmer could only pull off. I laughed out loud in places, which was unexpected, but satisfying. The plot meananders a bit, and the ending takes a bit too long, but overall I would recommend this movie for a Thursday night when you don't want to do too much. It certainly keeps you entertained. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review kevin c David Schwimmer starts a job at a call centre where he meets coworker Simon Pegg who talks him into helping him with a quick money making extortion scheme along with his friend played by Alice Eve. From there everything seems to go wrong. Good dark comedy with some pretty funny moments and many twists. This will definitely keep you entertained. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review michael t A very black comedy. The first time I watched it the humor was mostly lost on me- I was caught up in the angst as the body count climbed and almost didn't stick it out. Second time through the absurdity of it all came to the fore, sort of like the second time I saw The Big Lebowski. The endless plot twists keep it lively. A good cast made the most of the material. I thought it was better than the critics rated it. The title is apt for various reasons. I came for Alice Eve. Unfortunately she didn't have a very convivial character (nobody did), as in She's Out of My League. Philip French Guardian It's not much good, though certainly not boring. May 13, 2020 Full Review Anthony Quinn Independent (UK) Andrea simply doesn't have the comic nerve or timing to carry it off, and the look of his film is horribly drab - little wonder when most of it was shot in the Isle of Man and Wales, neither of them a convincing stand-in for Oregon. May 13, 2020 Full Review Helen O'Hara Empire Magazine The tone shift is a little too extreme for mainstream success, but Schwimmer and Pegg provide a solid, blackly comic centre to an original crime caper. Rated: 3/5 May 13, 2020 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins It's slightly clever from time to time, but it's pieced together in an entirely forgettable manner. Rated: 5/10 Nov 24, 2020 Full Review Total Film Staff Total Film An imitation of other indie noirs it may be, but Big Nothing is one film that offers more than its title suggests. May 13, 2020 Full Review Paul Dale The List Go rent the 1974 film Dirty Mary Crazy Larry; it's got a similar-ish plot and the car chases are better.
