We have plenty of information about the idea of the Notorious B.I.G., but Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell offers a rare look at the actual human being behind the legend. Go to Full Review

I Got a Story to Tell is essential viewing, provided that you're the kind of person who can rap the first verse of "Hypnotize" from memory. You come away wishing B.I.G. could've dreamed bigger. Go to Full Review
Daniel Fienberg The Hollywood Reporter 03/03/2021
There's enough good, previously unseen stuff in Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell to make it an easy recommendation, though seeing and hearing stuff you haven't seen before isn't the same as learning a lot of things you didn't know before. Go to Full Review
Kevin Bourne SHIFTER 07/20/2023
Through rare behind the scenes footage shot by long-time friend Damion “D-Roc” Butler and interviews with close family and friends, Biggie the rap superstar gives way to Christopher, the sometimes quiet and shy son and friend. Go to Full Review

[Biggie: I Got a Story To Tell] all amounts to a project with significant access and resources, but too little ambition in style and vision. Go to Full Review

07/04/2021 Um documentário padrão.. Nada de mais e nada de menos.. Só não dou 5 estrelas pois não é nada inovador. See more Brian D 06/24/2021 78%. 6/28/21. Rating a couple weeks after watching. Fun watch but wasn't overly exciting. I'd probably rate it a bit lower if I didn't love biggie See more ma'ark t 04/15/2021 The thing that made 'Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell' so enjoyable was there was the involvement of those who knew him best and the focus on some of the lesser-known details of his early life. See more philip p @VandyPrice 04/07/2021 There was a moment while watching this where Biggie - in what was I think 1994 - was giving an on-air interview talking about his newborn daughter and in the middle of it goes to pull out a picture of her to show the lady interviewing him. Beyond the wholesomeness of the pride we see in Biggie's face I, for one reason or another, totally expected him to pull out a phone on which he would show the interviewer a picture. When he didn't and instead pulled out a wallet-sized print of his baby girl I was taken aback by the realization of just how long ago what I was watching now is. In 2021, Biggie Smalls will have been gone longer than he was alive. I went into Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell expecting much of what it had to offer to largely be a retread of things I'd seen and heard before, but the home video footage offered by Damion 'D Roc' Butler is pretty special and only furthers a mythology that's continued to build for twenty-four years and counting. I Got a Story to Tell serving as an effective contribution to that of who The Notorious B.I.G. actually was. See more Riley F 03/30/2021 Biggie: I Got A Story To Tell, gives us a pleasent look at a rapper with a great story, but doesn't give us anything new. This movie was great, and reminded me of Biggies story, but didn't fully capture me in. I was excited to watch this, but after finishing, realized that the story of The Notorious B.I.G has been told a thousand times. We've all heard about his mysterious death and what makes him and his music different. Although, this movie was still able to bring enjoyment to a very familiar story. Overall, Biggie: I Got A Story To Tell tells us a story well, but a story we've all heard before. See more 03/27/2021 Same, same. A much more interesting movie for Biggie fans to see is City of Lies, which was just released last weekend. See more Read all reviews
