Victor O Given the right opportunity, I will sit and watch a B-movie. In the case of this movie, it's because of the gorgeous women and the decent production. But deep down, I like the aesthetic that comes from the glory days of drive-in movies, and I couldn't resist. Kim is just beginning to enjoy her summer when she receives notice that her late grandfather endowed her with the deed to a celebrated drive-in theater he used to own. However, she learns business isn't great and that they will foreclose if she doesn't pay the bank $50,000. Even worse, a land developer wants the drive-in to complete his plans for a shopping mall. But the good news is that Brian, the developer's son, is smitten with not just her but has the same affection for the theater as she does, wanting to restore it to glory, he goes to bat for her and helps out. From there comes an exciting and outrageous adventure of classic films and gorgeous girls. This was a fun movie, not Academy Award-worthy, but fun. I love how it dedicates itself to the classic films of the 1970s drive-ins with tributes to the people who lived it, from the scream queens to the stories that featured them. Very good. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Fred Olen Ray is known for his low budget flicks featuring pretty girls in various stages of undress, and this is no exception. A young woman inherits a drive-in and decides that showing a flick and serving popcorn in a bikini with her pals is the best way to save a dying industry, and the film tells us that it pays off in a big way, which is at the same time both charmingly naive and silly as hell, because why would anyone turn up in droves to buy popcorn just because there's cleavage involved? I mean, porn exists, y'know? At any rate, it's a fun time-waster and I would say give it a look if it sounds like your thing, eh? Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Ashley Rhey and her misfit friends band together to save her late grandfather's drive-in from debt with a bikini drive-in promotion. Total fluff (but mostly enjoyable fluff) from old hand Fred Olen Ray that has it's share of tongue-in-cheek laughs and a generous tribute to drive-in exploitation fare. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member A young woman with an aversion to tan lines inherits an old and debt-ridden drive-in theatre. A new marketing scheme turns laser fast profits. Watchable but as with any Fred Olen Ray project, best to temper expectations going in.
