Maher’s latest comes off as if such basics of the craft are beneath him, that lecturing instead of entertaining is sufficient. “Is Anyone Else Seeing This?” is foremost an exhibition of a man who considers himself to be above it all and above us all.

It’s revealing that Maher jokingly asks: “Where are my unexciting people?” There’s nothing exciting here, and nothing you’re not already seeing or hearing from him on most other weekends in Real Time.

It's sad how lazy Bill has become. This special is full of the same schtick he constantly whines about on Real Time and Club Random now. The guy must have decided 80 year old angry men are his base now, ''kids today'' seriously grandpa seems proud of having become a nowhere man. It's disappointing, the man hung around too long.

I like Real Time, but I didn't like this. I found most of it unfunny. Except, for maybe the plastic surgery bit. Maher's schtick doesn't work for me, outside of his Real Time series. I'm the kind of Bill Maher fan who thinks Maher is a jerk, but I like him anyway, and I agree with a lot of his closing monologues that come after the New Rules part of his Real Time show. This Maher presentation was more jerk, than acerbic cynic. And, there wasn't much in this show that he hasn't already said before on Real Time. I think it was in last season’s show, Maher stated that he wasn’t doing stand-up anymore— definitely a good decision!
