In a small Indian village, elderly Chakyar (Premji) awaits his son Raghu's arrival for the celebration of his daughter's (Archana) engagement. Raghu has been missing since taking part in a political protest, but his father goes to the bus station every day to await his arrival. After reading in the newspaper that Raghu has been arrested in the city of Trivandrum, Chakyar journeys there to discover where he is being held, but the police refuse to admit they have his son.
