Morgan Rojas Cinemacy Filmmaker Steve Martini tackles delicate topics with humor and heart, making 'BitterSweet' an enjoyable and inclusive film. Jun 26, 2025 Full Review Martin Carr martincarr.co.uk Occasionally, a movie will come along that is elevated not by technical prowess or even consistent performances, but something intangible and BitterSweet. Writer-director Steven Martini has captured that perfectly with this exploration of adult autism. Jun 11, 2025 Full Review Surya Komal Just for Movie Freaks BitterSweet is a small film with big intentions. It’s messy, funny, and full of heart—much like the life it portrays. Rated: 3.25/5 Jun 10, 2025 Full Review Emiliano Basile EscribiendoCine The comedy works thanks to the sometimes absurd, sometimes pathetic depiction of public officials. A hilarious portrait that manages to maintain its rhythm and humor. Kim H Watched Steve Martini's Bittersweet & loved it! What a crazy romp into one guy's journey to be a better man. Steve is absolutely charming, relatable & ridiculous and the wife, Gigi, is the perfect calm to his storm. Loved her performance. Kudos to everyone for putting out such a thoroughly entertaining movie and hero to cheer for! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/18/25 Full Review Rafaela R “BitterSweet” is a heartwarming and honest film about a father’s love and determination. It balances humor and emotion beautifully, with touching performances and a story that feels both real and uplifting. A quiet gem that stays with you. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/12/25 Full Review Theo B A timely, heartfelt, surprisingly relevant comedy perfectly suited for our modern world. What a gem of a film. When I heard this was an “autistic love story” I didn’t know what to expect. Not only does it humanize the many struggles autistic adults often experience, but it does so with a whacky playful humor that carries the story beautifully.

This is unique movie. It’s both a comedy about relationships and a serious reflection on the nature of neurodivergence and personal autonomy. And there’s a bit of “woke” humor in there too that is both tasteful and transcends political boundaries. In short, I loved this film so much I had to write a review. This is a great movie for friends or couples or families, or any person who sees the world differently and wants assurance that they’re not alone. A fun, slightly absurd comedy that opens the heart and opens up many opportunities for deeper conversations. Highly recommended. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/11/25 Full Review Tiago S Great time comedy. It’s super funny. It’s inspired by a true story. The cast is awesome. I loved every minute of it. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/09/25 Full Review CHIGMA P BitterSweet is a hilarious romcom written & directed by Steven Martini, a seasoned filmmaker with a niche for targeting real-life issues & the often uncomfortable humanity we all face. His narratives are woven from lived experience and his connection to the characters shows both on the page & onscreen. Him & his wife, Gabriela Kulaif, both starred in the film as well, adapting their true story of inter-cultural partnership, family, and neurodivergence to fiction, all while navigating the harsh, yet comedic, American legal system. The story is unique and the diverse, American & Brazilian cast & crew, bring an immense range of talent & perspective to the table. Featuring actors William Baldwin, Andrew Leeds, Eric Marmo, and Nic Novicki, Bittersweet is the silly, absurd, warm, fuzzy, & touching film you need to see this summer. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/14/25 Full Review Matthew O Loved this movie. As someone on the spectrum, I connected a ton with the movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/12/25 Full Review Read all reviews
