When a disaster destroys the ship, Alec frees the horse and escapes with it to a nearby island, where they form a close bond. Really good family movie here starring Kelly Reno, And Mickey Rooney this was one of Mickey’s later Films but he did an excellent job on it and yes, I will recommend it James Welch, Henderson, Arkansas, November 29, 2023

This is essentially a boy's variation on National Velvet; instead of a plucky young girl proving her worth by racing a horse; a boy is doing it. Beautifully filmed period piece with nice acting; although this is the umpteenth put upon wife or mother role Terri Garr has played. Kelly Reno is infact an expert horse racer; that's why he's cast. Mickey Rooney tutors young Alec/Reno just like he tutored Elizabeth Taylor a thousand years ago in National Velvet.
