Kevin M Very typical action movie. Nothing really interesting, just pass the time. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/17/23 Full Review william d Good action movie. Dolph Lungdren and Jean Claude are good in the movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/07/23 Full Review corkball Uh yeah, Black Water won't win any awards or anything. It is derivative, low budget, with a weak supporting cast, and let's be honest, JCVD hasn't been in many good movies lately (saving perhaps 'JCVD'). There is a plot of sorts, but think 'Die Hard on a submarine'. And not a very realistic submarine. All that said, seeing Dolph and JC back together is cute, and it has a few engaging scenes. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member It could have been better I mean it was okay they could have been a lot better and I want to watch a John Claude Van Damme movie I watch the movie cyborg or Bloodsport Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Matthew D Dolph is having a little fun while collecting his paycheck, but Van Damme is clearly bored. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/15/21 Full Review Audience Member Black Water has nothing that makes it memorable in time as an action movie, poor acting and very simple action scenes bury it in oblivion. Pete Vonder Haar Village Voice Criminal negligence of Dolph is far from Black Water's only sin, but it might be its most egregious. Rated: 1/5 Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Katie Walsh Los Angeles Times My, what tall ceilings this submarine has! Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Simon Abrams RogerEbert.com A mediocre submarine thriller that only really comes to life when co-star Dolph Lundgren gets to one-up the Muscles from Brussels. Rated: 1.5/4 Jun 29, 2018 Full Review Dave Golder Radio Times Overall, it's cheap but far from cheerful, with a minimum of contrived plot giving way to dull, repetitive action scenes staged in unconvincing sets. Rated: 1/5 Feb 9, 2024 Full Review Ed Travis Cinapse There's probably just enough here to please fans of Van Damme and Lundgren, but it's not a big stand out entry in either of their later careers. Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Maitland McDonagh Film Journal International A thoroughly forgettable formulaic action movie. Jun 29, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews
