Viet C Generally, it was a very generic experience for me, sprinkled with some emotionally captivating lines from the main character that were very motivational to hear. Not the best athlete biopic, nor the worst; it's right in between from what I've watched. Basically, you can watch it and literally passes the time. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/15/24 Full Review Johannes S A solid and inspiring movie allround but it lacks in certain departments to be more memorable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/08/24 Full Review D M The reason I enjoyed this movie is because it was based on a true story. I think watching anyone overcome difficulties & rise above all expectation to come out on top, shows us the power of inner strength. Miles Teller did a fantastic job. Other than that there are other boxing movies I would recommend over this. It just lacked that powerful emotional ending we expect from these type of films. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/23/24 Full Review Breno G Special Effects: 1,0/Sound Effects: 0,5/Acting: 1,0/Story: 2,0 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/19/23 Full Review Taylor L There's an inspirational true story behind the comeback of Vinny Pazienza, but it's so paint-by-numbers as a film that it feels totally sterile. There's very little to the characters beyond their Providence (not Boston, as they remind you frequently) accents, not much in the way of development or even discernible features. Things happen in the right order but there's little to the events beyond your standard dogged determination, which doesn't give you anything to keep the energy flowing during the film's long drag through physical recuperation; plainly, the film is boring when it should have been engaging and dramatic even when the main character is kept in a halo to recover from a broken neck. Big pumpup tracks in the soundtrack and training montages don't work if the character feels distant, and there's so little to latch onto with this depiction of Pazienza (which seems more the fault of the script rather than Miles Teller's performance) that the story beats mostly fall on deaf ears. Technically it's executed pretty well but the storytelling needs work, as it is Bleed for This is a pretty predictable and undistinguished boxing flick that doesn't make the most of its main character's determination. Funny that both Pazienza and his opponent in the film's final match, (the honestly much more legendary) Roberto Durán, both had film dramatizations released in 2016, and they were both pretty underwhelming. (2.5/5) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member One of Miles Teller's best movies. It's a good watch and the story is not half bad Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

David Ehrlich indieWire Teller is appreciably committed to the character, but he's only given one note to play, his full-bodied passion wasted on a movie that would rather win on points than go for the knockout. Rated: C Nov 15, 2018 Full Review Peter Travers Rolling Stone Younger jacks up the action in the last third, but the air goes out of a fight movie when you can see the next jab coming. Rated: 2.5/4 Nov 15, 2018 Full Review Leonard Maltin leonardmaltin.com Bleed for This is still worth seeing, despite its familiar trappings. Nov 15, 2018 Full Review Nick Levine NME (New Musical Express) Because of Teller's compelling performance and chemistrywith Eckhart, it's hard not to be roused by the film's triumphant finale, but it never transcends the clichés of its genre. It's an often gripping film, but never very insightful. Rated: 3/5 Apr 29, 2021 Full Review Leo Brady AMovieGuy.com Bleed for This is a surprisingly strong result. Rated: 3/4 Feb 3, 2021 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse Succeeds in getting across its predictable 'never-say-die' lesson. It's a shame Younger settles for a made-for-TV-movie sentiment instead of digging deeper to dins a subtext that would really knock the audience out.
